Introducción: El hematoma epidural intracraneal (HE) es una colección de sangre ubicada en el espacio epidural. Por lo general, resulta de una lesión cerebral traumática (TBI). La presencia de EH bilateral varía entre el 2% y el 25% de todos los casos de EH intracraneal. La tomografía computarizada es el método de elección para el diagnóstico y el tratamiento. El tratamiento ideal es quirúrgico. Metodología: Este artículo es una revisión de la literatura, analizando la presencia de EH bilateral, utilizando las siguientes bases de búsqueda: PubMed, Google Scolar, Ebsco, Scielo y LILACS. Se utilizaron las palabras clave: hematoma epidural, bilateral, traumatismo craneoencefálico y tomografía computarizada. Resultados: Se seleccionaron artículos relevantes al tema abordado, tomando en cuenta sus citas y sus respectivos impactos. Conclusiones: La EH bilateral se presenta en pacientes víctimas de TCE moderado y grave. La TC ha sido útil en el diagnóstico. El tratamiento inicial es quirúrgico. Su pronóstico ha sido peor en comparación con la EH unilateral.
